Multiple Concurrent Sessions
You can now browse multiple FTP sites and transfer files from them simultaneously. This gives users the much requested threaded transfers ability, allowing full control over the session activities; limited only by personal hardware and bandwidth.
Multi-Part Accelerated transfers
CuteFTP Pro gives users the option to break up a download into multiple parts which can accelerate the download by a factor of 4.
Secure FTP Sessions
From Secure FTP (SFTP) supported by UNIX servers running Secure Shell (SSH2) to the industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) support by CuteFTP ProÆs sister product, CuteFTP SERVER, our client now offers robust session security (login and data transfers) in a world of unsecure FTP client/servers.
Secure Passwords with S/Key
Support for one-use S/Key passwords improves security even on unencrypted connections. S/Key prevents Internet snoopers from getting your password.
Smart Overwrite Transfer Logic
Another unique feature of CuteFTP Pro is its ability to use programmable logic to deduce whether a file being transferred needs to overwrite, resume, rename or just skip a similar file on the destination side. Users are given the ability to configure this smart logic to suit their individual needs or simply let CuteFTP Pro decide.
Site-to-Site Transfers
CuteFTP Pro makes site-to-site transfers a cinch to use (FTP by Proxy). As long as both servers support this widely requested feature, then it is as simple as drag ænÆ drop from one open site to another.
Autonomous Transfer Engine
Built on a modular design platform, CuteFTP ProÆs Transfer Engine (TE) is completely independent of the main application interface. Currently, transfers can continue even after the main interface is exited (if enabled in Settings). The Transfer Engine is COM enabled and can be managed via programmable scripts. In the near future, it will allow CuteFTP Pro to double as a download manager as well.
HTTP Support and an Integrated HTML Editor
CuteFTP Pro has the added ability to connect to Web sites. This gives webmasters unprecedented control over content and allows them to manage their sites through FTP or HTTP protocols. CuteFTP Pro also fully integrates a powerful HTML editor that provides superb raw code editing features such as Color Coded Tags, Tag Tips, Global Find and Replace, Auto-Table Creation, Spell Checking, and much more.
Folder Synchronization
CuteFTP Pro now gives users the ability to mirror, compare, or synchronize their site with the local system. CuteFTP Pro takes this somewhat common feature a step further by tying it to the Smart Overwrite Logic and easy setup. No other FTP client provides site mirroring in a single click.
Offline Browsing
Great for modem users or browsing sites that restrict connection time, CuteFTP Pro brings sophisticated caching to its already impressive feature array. This feature allows users to cache (store in memory) sessions that you are browsing which you can later browse offline, the same day, or even a week later. Browsing a cached site speeds up navigation enormously while saving bandwidth and network resources.
Advanced Scripting and Macros
Supported by the COM enabled Transfer Engine (TE), you can write scripts in your favorite scripting language to accomplish FTP tasks with unprecedented precision and with all the power that your programming language provides. In addition, CuteFTP Pro can run your old macros and scripts from previous versions of the product.
Quick Connect, DUN/LAN, Scheduling and more!
CuteFTP ProÆs impressive arsenal of features includes the time-honed Quick Connect feature, support for Dial Up Networking, scheduling of transfers, Smart Sorting, and other powerful options, many of which are not found in any other FTP client. Check out the list below for a more detailed view of what it contains.

IV. KNOWN ISSUES
- When changing the value of "Global max number of concurrent transfers" in Global settings, the "Apply" button does not enable itself.
- If "On exit, close the Transfer Engine" is selected in General Settings, and the user exits the application during a transfer, CuteFTP Pro will perform slowly and not be able to find the Transfer Engine on its next run. This will persist until all partially downloaded files are deleted.
- On some IIS servers, multipart downloads will result in a dissimilar file CRC than the one being downloaded. If this occurs, check "Force RFC compliant PASV mode" in "Navigation settings -> WarFTP specific" and try the download again.
- If a URL is pasted into the URL box without a filename and the URL contains periods in the directory structure, then CuteFTP Pro will attempt a file transfer, rather than open up the specified site in a browse window.
- Servers running IIS 5.0 (Windows 2000 Server) do not allow permissions to be set via a CHMOD command. Therefore, when a user displays properties of files that are on a server of this type, permissions settings are not present.
- Due to the server's added processor overhead of generating encrypted trasnfers via SSH and SSL, Multi-part downloads over these two secure protocols can be ineffective and is not recommended.
